Design and Technology
At All Saints C of E Primary School, by the end of Year 6 children will be innovative, enterprising and resourceful citizens equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute to future design advancements.
We believe high-quality Design and Technology (D&T) education is essential for fostering children’s creativity and problem-solving. Through our broad and balanced D&T scheme of work, we aim to build an awareness of the impact of D&T on daily life, past and present, and an appreciation of the product design cycle through ideation, creation, and evaluation. Teaching ensures children learn to work confidently across a range of contexts to design, make, test and evaluate appealing, functional products that are focused on the needs, wants and values of particular users. We ensure children understand the real-life application of their D&T knowledge and skills by encouraging curricular links and providing opportunities to meet industry experts.
We realise that God’s fullness for us is shown in the gift of creation. This first value takes us back to God, the giver of abundant life. Now more than ever, our call to steward God’s creation is of upmost importance: not least to our young people. We focus on creating a community in which all are known, valued and given space to thrive and find abundance. From that secure base within a safe environment, we encourage our children to look out to the world with compassion. With the skills they have learnt, they can take the abundance of their education out to life beyond our school grounds, with the confidence to speak out and excel.
